Quick Homemade Salsa


  • 1 (28 oz) cans whole peeled tomatoes, drained
  • Big handful of cilantro leaves
  • 1/4 of a red onion
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 3 jalapeños, seeds removed for mild level of spice (optional)
  • 2 spoonfuls from a can of diced green chilies
  • Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1-2 scallions (white and green parts), finely chopped (optional)



Put all the ingredients except for the scallions into a food processor and pulse until well blended.


Taste and add salt as needed.


Pour into a serving bowl and stir in chopped scallions.
