Grandma’s Spaghetti & Meat Sauce with Allspice

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
  • 2(15oz) can Hunts Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pound spaghetti

Instructions

In a large skillet, add ground beef, breaking up the meat very well.

Add, salt, pepper, allspice, and garlic; cook until all the moisture has cooked off the meat and it starts to brown.

Add the tomato sauce and water.

The sauce is ready at this point, but if you simmer it at 30-60 minutes longer, the meat will be much more tender. Add additional water as needed.

Meanwhile cook the spaghetti, reserving 1/2 cup cooking water before draining.

Toss the spaghetti with the meat sauce; add pasta water if the sauce seems too thick.
