Parham’s Brownies


  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • For gluten free add an extra egg and 1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum

  1. Set rack in center of oven and pre-heat to 325-F.
  2. Spray an 8×8 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add the chocolate chips, oil, egg, and water; mix to combine.
  5. Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
