- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 egg
- For gluten free add an extra egg and 1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum
- Set rack in center of oven and pre-heat to 325-F.
- Spray an 8×8 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Add the chocolate chips, oil, egg, and water; mix to combine.
- Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
