Simple Granola

Adapted from Alton Brown


  • 3 tablespoons (36g) dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) pure maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons (36g) avocado or olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoons (3g) sea salt
  • 3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup (120g) raw sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)


  1. Pre-heat oven to 300-F.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, oil, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add oats, nuts, and coconut; mix well.
  4. Spread onto a baking sheet and cook for 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes.
